Firearms intern at Indianapolis-Marion County Forensic Service Agency

How did you learn about this internship opportunity?

I learned about this opportunity online when I was searching for internships.

How has your internship helped build your skills and clarify your career goals? How did being a Liberal Arts student at Purdue apply to your internship?

Forensics is in the criminal justice field and gave me an opportunity to see other sides of law enforcement.

What is a piece of advice you would give someone in your major looking for an internship?

Keep applying to any position even slightly in criminal justice so you see all the sides of it.

What key responsibilities or tasks have you taken on during your internship?

I reorganized the reference gun collection and updated their system with new locations.

In what ways has the College of Liberal Arts at Purdue University supported your internship journey? How has your participation in our job-ready program specifically aided your professional development?

Being in CLA has shown me there are many different opportunities in a range of fields and the Job-Ready award helped me immensely since the internship is unpaid.

Could you highlight a standout aspect of your experience in this program that you find particularly noteworthy?

Job-ready is great for helping find opportunities in the very niche fields commonly found in Liberal Arts.
