Nicole Baker is a Senior Publicist at Smith Publicity, where she develops and executes high-impact publicity campaigns for business, leadership, and lifestyle authors, helping them earn meaningful media coverage and build lasting visibility.

With more than 20 years of experience in public relations, Nicole is known for her strategic approach to media relations, identifying timely, newsworthy story angles, and securing interviews and features that resonate with both journalists and audiences. She has worked with bestselling and thought-leading authors, including Dr. Geeta Nayyar, Dr. Stacey Freedenthal, and Dr. Grant Brenner, and has secured media placements across leading national and international outlets including Newsweek, USA Today, TIME, NPR, BBC Global, Yahoo!, SiriusXM, HBR Ideacast, Fox News, and many others.

A breast cancer survivor, Nicole brings resilience, perspective, and authenticity to both her work and her life. She is passionate about helping experts find their voice, tell stories that matter, and understand how to navigate today's evolving media landscape. Nicole lives in the Indianapolis area with her husband, Matt, and their four dogs. Together, they are the proud parents of four grown children, including two currently serving in the U.S. Navy. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, long walks, cheering on the Boilermakers, and is still convinced she'll become a runner someday.
