Judge Frank J. Andreou was first appointed to the Office of Associate Judge in Cook County, Illinois in January of 2020. In 2024, Frank was elected to the Office of Circuit Court Judge with his term ending in December of 2030. Currently, Frank is assigned to the Jury Trial Section of the Law Division where he presides over cases involving medical malpractice, product liability, personal injury and wrongful death. He has also served in the Traffic and Criminal Divisions of the Circuit Court of Cook County.

Prior to becoming a judge, Frank had an almost 25-year career as an attorney. He began his legal career as a Cook County Assistant State’s Attorney. He worked as an associate attorney for a large law firm in Chicago defending doctors and hospitals in medical malpractice cases. Then he was a principal attorney and managing partner of the law firm Andreou & Casson, Ltd.

Frank has written over 90 appellate briefs and argued before the Illinois Appellate Court and the Seventh Circuit Federal Appellate Court. Frank is currently the President of the Hellenic Bar Association of Illinois. He also sits on the Board of Directors of the Illinois Judges Association and the North Suburban Bar Association. He is a member of the Order of Themis (Judges of Hellenic Heritage); the Alliance of Illinois Judges (Ally to the organization of LGBTQ+ Judges); The Illinois Judicial Counsel (African American Judges Association) and is a member of the Women’s Bar Association of Illinois. Frank was elected to the Northbrook District 27 school board where he served from 2014-2019. He is also a member of his Parish Counsel, coached youth basketball and sings in his church choir. Frank is a proud alum of the College of Liberal Arts, and his two sons are Boilermakers too. John is a graduate of the School of Agriculture and Chris is a junior in the Mitch Daniels School of Business. Frank’s wife Lina, an accomplished dentist, is a Boilermaker by proxy!
