How did you learn about this internship opportunity?

Second year as an intern throughout the league!

What is a piece of advice you would give someone in your major looking for an internship?

Any learning experience is still experience! Once you get in the door somewhere, you have all the opportunity in the world to learn, no matter how you enter. So, apply to everything and be open to learning.

What key responsibilities or projects have you taken on during your internship?

Reporting on human interest stories of players, interns, teams, and companies on the Cape along with editing and producing graphics for all work as well. Also, work with graphics and replay on game days for our TV broadcast.

How has your internship helped build your skills and clarify your career goals? How did being a Liberal Arts student at Purdue apply to your internship?

I learned how to work with different people who have learned in different ways than Purdue has taught me. I also realized exactly what I want in a future job because of my role this summer, so a lot of clarity on post-grad life came to me during this time. Being a Liberal Arts student at Purdue has allowed me to work in many capacities in the sports world, and it set me up perfectly walking into this internship and I was already experienced in some roles asked of me.

In what ways has the College of Liberal Arts at Purdue University supported your internship journey? How has your participation in our Job-Ready program specifically aided your professional development?

Without the Job-Ready program and the opportunities I have received through the College of Liberal Arts, I would not have been able to obtain or say yes to this internship. My internship was unpaid and I had no relocation expenses given to me, so without the support I would not have been able to have the experiences I had throughout the summer.

Could you highlight a standout aspect of your experience in the Job-Ready program that you find particularly noteworthy?

Everyone I had come across in order to apply to Job-Ready was so helpful and encouraging, not just a standard here it is. They really went above and beyond to help me in any way I needed.
