About SEAMUS 25

Theme: Spaces | Places | Traces
This year, we are continuing with the theme of 'Spaces | Places | Traces,' with the aim of exploring it across various conferences. In March 2024, we focused on this very theme at the Web Audio Conference (WAC), and this year, we explore it at the SEAMUS '25 conference. As the boundaries between physical and virtual spaces blur, new opportunities for real-time, non-real-time, and faster-than-real-time engagement have become more accessible than ever, regardless of location or time. The role of sound, audio, and music becomes particularly compelling when considering the sounds of spaces and places in music performance, composition, and research, whether through fixed media, mixed media, interactive works, installations, or research and the study of soundscapes and environmental noise.
