Representative Julie Olthoff
Representative Julie Olthoff represents Indiana House District 19 in the Indiana House of Representatives and her path here is very much “worked her way up” story: she helped pay her way through school (including as a cake decorator), started in graphic design, and then spent decades building a marketing career as the founder of VIA Marketing. She’s brought deep local civic experience into the Statehouse through public service roles like planning and zoning, and has helped move more than 100 bills into law over her tenure, including initiatives tied to education funding, housing, and the South Shore Line expansion. She’s also been recognized for major efforts on youth suicide prevention and for advancing support for Direct Support Professionals, and she authored Indiana’s 2024 political deepfake disclosure law (HB 1133) requiring disclaimers on certain AI-generated or digitally altered campaign materials. When she’s not working, Julie and her husband Ron (married since 1986) are active at CrossPoint Church and she unwinds at the pottery wheel.
