Construction Project Manager Lead
Purdue University in Indianapolis
Indianapolis, IN

Kristi Brown is currently a Construction Project Manager Lead at Purdue University in Indianapolis, where she is working to have it fully operational for fall 2024 start of classes, the master planning effort for the 28 acre campus and a study for the first Purdue building on the Indianapolis campus. Kristi started as a clerk within Capital Program Management just a few years after graduating from Purdue with her BA in English Literature. She became ‘fascinated with designing the bigger picture’ and the parts necessitated to build an enduring community. Kristi built on the skills she learned during her time at Purdue, and combined with her construction experience locally, became an integral part of the management team.

Her responsibilities have included working on the State Street Redevelopment Project and serving as a member on the Joint Board management team, which is a joint management team between Purdue and West Lafayette. Other projects include the Gateway monument at State and Grant and the 3rd Street Pedestrian Corridor. This requires Kristi to work closely with the city of West Lafayette engineering department and development office. She is also responsible for coordinating all of Purdue’s physical facilities, street, and construction projects to ensure that scopes and timelines occur in a manner that allows vehicular and pedestrian traffic to flow safely and effectively.

Kristi is rewarded by her job in turn by being able to watch residents not only use the new amenities but also appreciate these new features.

Kristi has two children, loves to cook, especially pasta dishes, and enjoys taking her dog on frequent walks.
