Cody Blake Robison has thrived when he's synchronized his core personal values (Stewardship, Authenticity, Beauty, Connectedness, and Tenacity) with his professional and personal work. He currently serves the State of Indiana as the Deputy Chief Financial Officer of Higher Education for the Indiana Office of Education. In his role, Robison is responsible for state policy and strategy regarding higher education funding, as well as the financial operations of the Indiana Commission for Higher Education including the stewardship of over $400M in student financial aid.

 

Prior to coming to public service, Robison worked in operations and risk management at Generation USA, a nonprofit backed by BlackRock, McKinsey & Company, Microsoft and Verizon. The team at GenUSA worked to rethink and transform the education to employer pipeline by creating tailored training programs for well-paying, stable, and in-demand careers that focused on training the behavior skills and mindsets that made successful entry-level employees, alongside the technical skills and credentials.

 

Robison started his career with Teach For America, where he taught kindergarten and first grade in the Martindale-Brightwood neighborhood of Indianapolis at KIPP Indy Public Schools.

 

He has earned a BS in Sociology, MS in Communication, and Graduate Certificate in Strategic Human Resource Management from Purdue University, as well as his Masters in Teaching from Marian University.

 

When not at work, Cody can be found in his Irvington home with his husband, Ty, and two pets: Alphinaud and Francois (Frank). Cody and Ty enjoy being civically engaged in Indianapolis's public sphere and business communities. They also enjoy the local visual and performing arts scene, frequenting dance performances and amassing a small collection of works by local artists.
