Matt Gentry has served as the Mayor of Lebanon, Indiana since 2016. At the time of his swearing-in, he was the second youngest Mayor in Indiana; aged 26. Mayor Gentry was re-elected in 2019, and 2023.

After graduating from Purdue University in 2012, Mayor Gentry worked as a Legislative Assistant at the Indiana House of Representatives and then as partner at Mark It Red, a political consulting firm, working on campaigns for candidates for US Senate, Congress, State Legislature, and local races.

As mayor, Gentry has emphasized preparing for Lebanon’s bright future and managing the transition from an agrarian community to the home of the State of Indiana’s LEAP district and part of the Indianapolis metropolitan area. He has worked to improve the quality of life within the city by revitalizing Lebanon’s historic downtown square and neighborhoods as well as expanding and improving the City’s parks and trail system. He has also focused on rehabilitating the City’s infrastructure by making significant investments in Lebanon’s roads, sidewalks, and utility systems. Under his administration, Lebanon has attracted more than $5 Billion in economic development projects and 3000+ jobs.

Mayor Gentry served as the President of the Indiana Conference of Mayors from 2019-2021, a Board Member of Accelerating Indiana Municipalities, and as a Governor's appointee to the Water Infrastructure Taskforce.

Matt is a 3rd generation Boilermaker that resides in Lebanon with his wife Abby and two sons, Mason (4) and Cooper (1). Most of his free time is spent with wife and children but he can be found at Purdue Football and Basketball games or on the golf course from time to time.
