Sara and Rochelle grew up in Elkhart, IN and spent their summers visiting their paternal grandparents in Beijing, China. They love their small town community that provided a wonderful environment to learn and grow and go after one’s dreams. While attending Purdue, they participated in the All-American Marching Band and performed as Silver Twins. They have fond memories of performing at all the home football games and developed close relationships with fellow band members when they traveled with the AAMB to various Big Ten Universities, Beijing, China, and the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Sara majored in Political Science and minored in Chinese and Communication. Rochelle majored in Communication and minored in Chinese and Psychology. They were both Dean's Ambassadors for the College of Liberal Arts and held leadership roles in D.I.V.E.R.S.I.T.Y., a liberal arts club focused on highlighting and celebrating diversity on campus. In addition to the activities on campus, they were involved with Clear River Church in Lafayette. After graduation, they both moved to Washington, D.C. to work for the C-SPAN networks.

They had a unique opportunity to see the American government in action. Sara worked as a Production Assistant for the network’s flagship program, the Washington Journal. Rochelle also began as an Operations Production Assistant and then joined the editorial team for the First Ladies special series. Eventually, they both transitioned to the Marketing Department. For nearly three years, they individually traveled across the country to promote C-SPAN. One highlight opportunity for them was traveling to the caucuses and primaries during the 2016 Presidential campaign events. They witnessed democracy first-hand and met voters face-to-face.

Following their experiences at C-SPAN, Sara and Rochelle moved to Boston to pursue their master’s degrees from Harvard University. While in graduate school, they continued to feed their passion for politics by participating in a political practicum called From Harvard Square to the Oval Office. Outside of the classroom, Sara and Rochelle served on the leadership team for the Harvard Graduate Christian Fellowship on campus and with Anchor Church in Boston. They both completed their Master’s Degrees in Marketing Management from Harvard University in the Spring of 2018.

Currently, they both live in Chicago, IL. Sara is a Market Strategy Manager for United Airlines, Rochelle is a consulting manager for Accenture, specializing in Life Sciences and Change Management. They both love to spend their time exploring the city and staying actively involved with the Purdue Alumni Club of Chicago. Sara is the Vice President and Rochelle is the President of the club.
