Big Ten Academic Alliance (BTAA) CourseShare

The Big Ten Academic Alliance (BTAA) CourseShare program enables degree-seeking students at BTAA member universities to enroll in less commonly taught language courses offered remotely (synchronously) by other BTAA institutions. Students remain enrolled at their home university and pay their regular tuition rate.

Purdue Students

If you are a degree-seeking Purdue student who needs to study a language that is not offered at Purdue, speak with your academic advisor about CourseShare opportunities. Your advisor will work with the School of Languages and Cultures CourseShare Coordinator to determine whether a suitable course is available through another BTAA institution and whether it can be applied to your academic program.

Students from Other BTAA Institutions

If you are a student at another BTAA member institution interested in taking a language course offered by Purdue through CourseShare, you will receive academic credit through your home institution while being enrolled at Purdue as an official guest student for the semester.

How to Register

Registration for a CourseShare course begins at your home university. Start by contacting your academic advisor or language program. Your institution's BTAA coordinator and registrar will coordinate with Purdue's CourseShare Coordinator and the Purdue Registrar to complete your guest enrollment.

Once your enrollment has been finalized, you will receive an email with instructions for creating your Purdue email address and computing account. You must complete these steps to access Brightspace, course materials, and other Purdue online resources.
