Outstanding Senior in Linguistics

"I began my journey at Purdue as a chemistry major, transitioned to chemical engineering, and ultimately found my home in linguistics and mathematics: a path displaying both my initial uncertainty as well as drive to live in my passions. While those changes at times felt uncertain, they ultimately led me to the academic communities where I have felt most fulfilled and confident in who I am becoming. Pursuing both majors allowed me to embrace my enthusiasm for language while continuing to challenge my analytical mindset through advanced mathematics. Along the way, I have had the opportunity to work in multiple linguistics labs at Purdue, where I have further developed my interests and gained hands-on research experience. Although arriving at Purdue was intimidating and graduating feels just as daunting, I would not change my journey, as it has shaped both my academic goals and my sense of self." Paige Doyle 2026
