What did you find most beneficial in SCLA 620?

SCLA 620 helped me improve both my teaching and presentation skills. I learned how to communicate technical topics more clearly to undergraduate audiences. The course also gave me more opportunities to practice speaking in front of others and receiving feedback, which made me feel much more comfortable leading discussions and interacting with students during office hours.

What specific language, communication, and presentation skills did you improve on in SCLA 620?

I learned RAV technique for Q&A sessions. This technique helped me learn how to respond more thoughtfully and confidently when students ask unexpected questions and make sure I fully answered their concerns. I also improved my presentation organization, speaking clarity, and audience engagement skills. I have been able to apply many of these communication skills in my office hours, where I guide students through challenging concepts and answering their questions more effectively.
