Logan Strother completed his Ph.D. in political science at Syracuse University, his master’s in political science at Southern Illinois University, and his bachelor's degree in history teacher education at Missouri University of Science & Technology. He joined Purdue’s faculty in 2018.

Strother’s research at the intersection of law, politics, and policy challenges conventional wisdom regarding the public’s influence on court behavior and his work offers innovative insights into the underpinnings of key policy attitudes, particularly around fundamental rights, and liberties. His work has covered a range of topics including eminent domain, flood mitigation policy, free speech, and policing.

Strother has eighteen peer-reviewed articles published or in press, multiple book chapters, and has secured funding for his research. He has won multiple “best paper” awards and has been able to publish his work in journals in multiple fields including Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, Political Communication, Policy Studies Journal, and Public Administration Review. In 2020, he won the APSA Law & Courts Section Best Conference Paper Award. In 2019, he won the Neal Tate Awards Southern Political Science Association Best Paper on Judicial Politics.
