Evan Perrault completed a Ph.D. in communication and an M.A. in health and risk communication at Michigan State University and a B.A. in journalism at University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire. He is interested in translational research, or finding ways to distill complex information for the public, and researching the best ways healthcare systems can design more effective physician biographies on their websites.

Dr. Perrault classifies himself as a mixed-methodologist, as he uses a combination of both quantitative and qualitative methodologies to help answer research questions and to create the most effective messages possible. He enjoys designing and implementing strategic communication campaigns and determining the best ways to evaluate their impact. He is currently working with a hospital system to develop ways to effectively evaluate an infant mental health initiative that is delivered after mothers give birth.

Perrault’s research has been published in multiple journals including the Journal of Health CommunicationJournal of Applied Communication Research, Journal of Communication in Healthcare, Family MedicineHealth Communication, and Journal of Cancer Education. He has also presented at an array of national and regional conferences such as the National Communication Association, Kentucky Conference on Health Communication, D.C. Health Communication Conference, and the Wisconsin Healthcare Public Relations & Marketing Society Conference.
