Ariel de la Fuente completed a Ph.D. and M.A. at State University of New York (Stony Brook). He teaches graduate and undergraduate courses on topics including Latin American History, Global History, and World Soccer.

Dr. de la Fuente specializes in 19th-century political, social, and cultural history as well as the intersection of history with Latin American, European, and Eastern literatures, poetry, philosophy, and sexuality.

De la Fuente has many publications including books and articles. His most recent book is titled Borges, Desire, and Sex (Liverpool: Liverpool University Press, 2018) which presents a largely unknown side of Borges’ literature and figure. His works are interdisciplinary in approach and have appeared in the Boletín, Variaciones Borges, Foros de Historia Política 3, and Bulletin of Spanish Studies among others.
