Maren Linett

Maren Linett received her master’s and Ph.D. from the University of Michigan and her bachelor’s degree from the University of Chicago. She specializes in modern British literature with secondary specializations in transatlantic modernism, Jewish studies, and disability studies. 

Her first book, Modernism, Feminism, and Jewishness, was published in 2007 by Cambridge University Press and reissued in paperback in 2011.  Her second book, Bodies of Modernism: Physical Disability in Transatlantic Modernist Literature, was published in 2017 as part of the Corporealities series of the University of Michigan Press.  Linett has edited Virginia Woolf: An MFS Reader (Johns Hopkins UP, 2009) and The Cambridge Companion to Modernist Women Writers (Cambridge UP, 2010) and published articles on an array of modernist writers.

Linett teaches undergraduate and graduate courses on modern British literature, modernist women writers, disability studies, James Joyce, Elizabeth Bowen, and Virginia Woolf. She developed the new Critical Disability Studies minor.
