Charles Gick

Professor of Painting, Drawing, and Installation Art // 2D Extended Media

Charles A. Gick is a Professor of Art in the Department of Art and Design in the Patti and Rusty Rueff School of Visual and Performing Arts at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana, where he teaches painting, drawing, and installation art. He holds a MFA from Northwestern University and a BFA from the Kansas City Art Institute. As an interdisciplinary artist, Gick combines video, performance, painting, photography and assemblage and has received national and international recognition for his work. He was the first recipient of the Purdue University Affiliated Fellowship at the American Academy in Rome. Samples of his previous exhibitions include, solo installations: “Three Clouds in Waiting” at the Luminary Center for the Arts, St. Louis, Missouri, and “Waiting,” an installation exhibited at the Carriage House, Long Island Center for Experimental Art, Islip Art Museum. Gick has also exhibited his work in several international group exhibitions in countries such as Varna, Bulgaria, and Kansk, Russia. He was also selected as the only US representative to be included in “Curated Special Selections from Videoholica,” which was exhibited in Belgrade, Serbia, Milan, Italy, and Copenhagen, Denmark. Robin Kraft

Robin Kraft

Professor of Fine Arts // Craft and Materials

Robin Kraft's work in jewelry, enamel, hollowware and sculpture has been recognized with numerous awards and has been included in over 200 national and international gallery and museum exhibitions; Her work is included in public museum and private collections, has been featured in several books and published and reviewed in Metalsmith, American Craft, Ornament, Fiberarts, and the Seattle Times, among others. She is the recipient of Individual Artist grants and an Artist Fellowship grant from the Indiana Arts Commission and the Ohio Arts Council.

Lynn Lee

Continuing Lecturer of Integrated Studio Arts // Arts, Culture and Technology

Lynn Lee holds a MA in photography from purdue Univerisity. A non-traditional path outwards developing personal work took her through several years of commercial photography. Recently, Lyn has started developing a new, conceptual bodies of work which reflects both the love of analog process and the freedom of digital manipulation and printing. She has a published a paper titled, Dreaming in Analog: The marriage of vintage photographic process and the contemporary World. “ Her work has been included nationally and internationally including Syo gallery in South Korea, ADM gallery in Singapore, Elizabeth Lane Oliver Art Center, Frankfurt, MI, and Solo exhibition at Tippticanoe Arts Federation [read more].

 


Robert Mahorney

Associate Professor of Painting and Drawing // 2D Extended Media

Robert Mahorney is currently an Associate Professor of Art in the Department of Art and Design in the Patti and Rusty Rueff School of Visual and Performing Arts at Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana. Areas of specialty are that of Painting and Drawing. Before coming to Purdue, he also taught at Notre Dame University. College degrees have been acquired at both the University of California at Berkeley and the University of Arizona. Robert has exhibited his work extensively throughout the country.

 


shannon mcmullen

Shannon McMullen

Associate Professor of Integrated Studio Arts and American Studies // Arts, Culture and Technology

Dr. McMullen is a jointly appointed Assistant Professor in the School of Visual and Performing Arts and in American Studies at Purdue University. She received a PhD in sociology from the University of California, San Diego in 2007. Her current research interests and creative endeavors focus on relations between nature and technology, the creation of installations and artifacts to produce temporary social spaces, and engagement with public visual cultures. Caroline Owen

Visiting Lecturer in Printmaking and Drawing // 2D Extended Media

Caroline Owen is a Visiting Lecturer in Printmaking and Drawing in the Department of Art and Design in the Patti and Rusty Rueff School of Visual and Performing Arts at Purdue University. She teaches relief, lithography, and silkscreen printmaking courses as well as life drawing. Owen received her BFA in Fine Arts from Clemson University in 2009 and her MFA in Printmaking from Purdue in 2016. Her figurative-based work combines traditional printmaking practices with other 2D and 3D media, experimenting the boundaries of expressing the human body both physically and emotionally. Owen has exhibited work both nationally and internationally, recently at the 5th SIPS 16 at the El Minia University, Cairo, Egypt, in 2016 and It Figures at the ARC Gallery and Educational Foundation,Chicago, Illinois, in 2016. min kim park

Min Kim Park

Associate Professor of Integrated Studio Arts // Arts, Culture and Technology

Born in South Korea, Min Kim Park explores issues surrounding gender, ethnicity and identity using performance, video, photography, sound and video installation. Park’s work has been exhibited nationally and internationally since 2007. Her work has been included at the New Mexico Museum of Art, Museum of Fine Arts in Santa Fe, Site Santa Fe, Indianapolis Museum of Contemporary Art, Arizona State University, University of Houston, University of California, Santa Barbara, Emory University, Kinsey Institute, Private Museum in Singapore, Syo gallery in Korea, Korean Cultural Center in Beijing, China. In 2012, Park’s video work, Zummarella was screened at White Box, New York, Columbus International Film and Video festival, CologneOFF and Videoholica. Park has been an artist in residence at the Bemis Center for Contemporary Art and the recipient of a Rosenquist artist in residency at North Dakota State University. She received a MFA degree in Photography from the University of New Mexico in 2007. She has taught at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and Northwestern University in Chicago. Rick Paul

Rick Paul

Professor of Fine Arts // Craft and Materials

Rick Paul taught at Art at Eastern Kentucky University for 7 years before coming to Purdue in 1974. He currently teaches two and three-dimensional foundations design courses. His artistic endeavors include drawings, installations and sculpture. He has received grants from the National Endowment for the Humanities, Indiana Arts Commission (Individual Artist grants and Project grant) and the National Endowment for the Arts (4 exhibitions funded and Master Sculptor Grant, 1992 . Paul has shown in numerous museums including The Contemporary Arts Center, Cincinnati, The Cultural Center, Chicago, The Institute of Art, Philadelphia, The Huntsville Museum, Fort Wayne Museum of Art, and the Indianapolis Museum. His current research interests include generative modeling and Arduino based projects. [read more].



liz wiezerbeck

Liz Wierzbicki

Visiting Lecturer in Printmaking // 2D Extended Media

Liz Wierzbicki is a Visiting Lecturer in Printmaking in the Department of Art and Design in the Patti and Rusty Rueff School of Visual and Performing Arts at Purdue University.  She is also an adjunct instructor at the Herron School of Art and Design in the Drawing and Foundations Departments.  Wierzbicki is a Co-founder and Co-Director of Cat Head Press, a Printshop and Artist Cooperative in Indianapolis. She received her BA in Mathematics and Fine Art from Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois and her MFA in Printmaking from Herron School of Art in Indianapolis.  She is the recipient of various awards and residencies and her multimedia work continues to appear in solo and group exhibitions locally, nationally and internationally.  More information on Wierzbicki’s work can be found on her website at lizwierzbicki.com.

Christine Wuenschel

Associate Professor of Drawing // 2D Extended Media

Christine Wuenschel is an Associate Professor of Fine Arts in the Department of Art and Design in the Patti and Rusty Rueff School of Visual and Performing Arts at Purdue University. She teaches life drawing, painting, and serves as the department’s Director of Graduate Studies. Wuenschel received her BFA in Drawing and Painting from the University of Akron in 2004 and her MFA in Drawing and Painting from Arizona State University in 2008. She is a figurative artist whose work explores the gestural expressive nature of drawing media usually on a larger than life-size scale. Wuenschel is most recognized for her large drawings dealing with nudity, identity, and body image. Her work has won several exhibition awards and continues to appear in both national and international group and solo exhibitions including Drawing Discourse: 7th Annual International Exhibition of Contemporary Drawing at S. Tucker Cooke Gallery at University of North Carolina-Asheville; The Derwent Art Prize at The Mall Galleries in London, England; and Kink: The Seduction of Art at Koplin Del Rio Gallery in Culver City, California. Fabian Winkler

Associate Professor of Integrated Studio Arts // Arts, Culture and Technology

Fabian Winkler is an Associate Professor of Visual and Performing Arts at Purdue University where he initiated and developed the area of Electronic and Time-Based Art in 2006. He holds degrees from the Karlsruhe University of Arts and Design (HfG)/ZKM Karlsruhe, Germany and UCLA, Department of Design|Media Arts, Los Angeles, USA. Since 2011, Winkler has worked collaboratively with Dr. Shannon McMullen on a series of artworks and strategies at the intersection of nature and technology defined by the artists as “Critical Gardening,” exploring the premise that gardens express ideas, ideologies and social relations [read more].

Sigrid Zahner

Associate Professor of Visual and Performing Arts // Craft and Materials

Sigrid Zahner is an associate Professor of Visual and Performing Arts at Purdue University and is head of the ceramics program there. In addition to teaching both graduate and undergraduate level ceramics, Sigrid has taught undergraduate sculpture courses, textile courses, and co-taught the graduate level installation class in the School of Visual and Performing Arts at Purdue.

Sigrid’s work is represented in several museums and collections, including the Grimmerhus Museum, Danish National Museum of Ceramic Art, Copenhagen, Denmark, The NAU Museum in Arizona, The Copia Museum, Napa, CA, Guldagergaard International Ceramic Research Center Skaelskor, Denmark, and the Diane and Sandy Besser Collection. In addition to showing in the USA, Sigrid has shown all over the world including in Japan, Denmark, UK, and has shown at NCECA, The National Council of Education in the Ceramic Arts.
