As part of the global King Sejong Institute network supported by the Republic of Korea’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, we offer structured language courses and cultural learning opportunities that promote meaningful exchange and connect our community with Korea.
Our courses are free and noncredit. Participants do not need to be registered students at Purdue University.
Fall 2026 Course Offerings
Beginning Korean 1A
Students will learn essential Korean sentence structures, vocabulary, and verb conjugations. Through practical activities, students will learn how to introduce themselves, describe people and objects, talk about everyday life, and use common expressions for shopping and other daily situations.

Eligibility and Course Requirements
- Participants must be 14 years of age or older.
- Participants must reside in Greater Lafayette or a surrounding county.
- Registration is required.
- Students must attend at least 70 percent of the classes to complete the course.
Placement Test
- Students who would like to enroll at a higher level may take a placement test.
