David Santogrossi Honors Scholarships

These honors scholarships are funded with a bequest from Professor David Santogrossi. Professor Santogrossi taught at Purdue for 37 years, and at the time of his death was an Associate Professor of Clinical Psychology and Associate Dean of the School of Liberal Arts. He was a founding member of the Purdue Teaching Academy and is listed in the inaugural Purdue Book of Great Teachers. He valued honors and had a desire to inspire undergraduates to excel academically.

Deadline: April 1

Amount: Variable up to $1,500

Criteria for Eligibility:

Outstanding Honors Senior Scholarships up to $2,000 each.

Outstanding Honors Junior Scholarships up to $2,000 each.

Outstanding Sophomore Scholarships up to $2,000 each.

The Honors Committee has adopted the following general guidelines:

1. These awards will be given only to students enrolled full time in a degree program within the College of Liberal Arts.

2. Other qualifications being equal, preference for these awards will be given to students who have accepted leadership roles within the Honors Program and have taken part in the Honors Colloquium.

3. Other qualifications being equal, preference for these awards will be given to students who have taken the most Honors courses within the Honors Program.

4. Seniors graduating in May are not eligible.
