Ryan Hatfield was elected Vanderburgh County Circuit Court Judge in November 2024. Judge Hatfield presides over and adjudicates criminal and civil legal matters in the First Judicial Circuit Court of Indiana.
Before taking the bench in January 2025, Ryan Hatfield served as State Representative in the Indiana General Assembly and practiced law as an attorney at Hatfield Law in Evansville, IN. In the General Assembly, Rep. Hatfield served as Assistant Leader and Ranking Minority Member of the Judiciary Committee as well as the Committee on Employment, Labor and Pensions. His name is permanently etched in the House Chamber as the 2024 recipient of the ARMIGA Civility Award for his exceptional display of civility, cooperation, friendliness and bipartisan spirit throughout his legislative tenure.
At Purdue, he served as President of Sigma Chi Fraternity and earned a Certificate in Entrepreneurship and Innovation which included a summer studying in Beijing, China. Ryan is married to wife, Kendra, and they have three children, Olivia, Rose, and George.
