Public Relations and Strategic Communication

National Panhellenic Conference

How has your internship helped build your skills and clarify your career goals?

As an undergraduate student, I have been able to explore my passion for PR in on campus opportunities such as Boiler Communication and Purdue Panhellenic Association. I knew that I wanted to gain professional experience during my summer break, and through my love for Purdue's Panhellenic Association, I applied for National Panhellenic Conference to be their marketing intern. Since having this opportunity, I have been able to gain first hand experience of what it's like to work on the marketing and communications team for company that is known across the US and supports over 580 college panhellenics.

How do you apply your Liberal Arts skills in your internship?

I was able to use many of the skills I learned in Boiler Communication to my internship. While being an account coordinator for Boiler Communication, I was able to learn how to write blogs, press releases and outline campaigns in order to execute them effectively. These skills that I was able to gain at Purdue helped me immensely in my internship.

How did you learn about this opportunity?

I learned about this internship through a leadership summit I attended with Purdue Panhellenic Association. National Panhellenic Conference hosted a leadership academy in January of 2022 and I was hoping to get more involved in their organization, so I applied.
