About Me
I’m a freshman studying Aviation Management in the Polytech Institute. I am originally from Pakistan, but I lived in and finished high school in Dubai, UAE before coming to Purdue. My interests are playing soccer, badminton, pickleball, and watching Formula 1 racing.
Why did you come to Purdue?
I chose Purdue because it is a very well-known university globally and it is one of the safest universities in the US. In addition, Purdue has a great ranking in the Aviation field and that is why I chose Purdue.
Goals and Plans
To do the best I can in my academics and to make friends that will support me along the way at Purdue. After I graduate, I plan to work in a high paying job in the aviation industry.
Experience with PLaCE classes or workshops
Both SCLA 110 and SCLA 111 have helped me improve my communication and academic skills. The courses have helped me learn how to participate more confidently in class discussions and give better presentations. I like that the instructors are very supportive and the course has helped me become more effective in my academic work.
Advice to new Purdue students
New international students at Purdue University ought to speak English, communicate with peers, and engage in different activities within the university.
