The Purdue University Galleries offer a variety of art forms and exhibits throughout the year, featuring artwork from regional, national and international artists as well as the Galleries permanent collection. These exhibits rotate every six weeks through the school year. In partnership with the Patti and Rusty Rueff Galleries, they represent the “Galleries at Purdue.”
A new exhibit space, the Fountain Gallery in downtown Lafayette, has marked an important departure for Purdue Galleries and for the university itself, as it is specifically intended to reach across the Wabash River and engage a new local audience. The new gallery is housed in the historic Perrin Building at 330 Main Street across from the fountain at Courthouse Square.
The new space follows the pattern of the Ringel Gallery on campus, featuring artwork from regional, national, and international artists, as well as the Galleries permanent collection of over 5,500 objects. The Galleries holdings are meant to provide a lasting cultural resource for both the Purdue community and the Lafayette-West Lafayette region, and the new gallery provides better opportunities for these works to be appreciated.
