Distinguished and Named Professorships

In the College of LIberal Arts, the process for awarding a distinguished professorship  begins with a request to the dean. Following the dean's approval to proceed, the candidate is reviewed by the appropriate primary committee, a committee of distinguished professors, and then sent to the provost's office for further review.

The procedure of a named professorship is similar except that a review committee is appointed by the dean instead of a committee of distinguished professors.
