Chinese Cultural Events at Purdue
The Purdue Chinese Program offers a variety of engaging cultural events throughout the year that bring together students, faculty, and community members to experience and celebrate Chinese language and culture. Our recurring events include:
- Weekly Chinese Tea Hours in SC 131—hosted in rotation by Chinese faculty—where participants enjoy tea, snacks, and casual conversation while taking part in fun activities such as boba-making, festival celebrations, and Chinese games. Everyone is welcome to join, regardless of Chinese proficiency or enrollment in Chinese courses.
- Biweekly calligraphy meetings hosted by the Chinese calligraphy club (https://boilerlink.purdue.edu/organization/chinesecalligraphyclub), offering hands-on practice with brush writing and traditional aesthetics.
- Chinese Film Appreciation Nights provide opportunities to explore contemporary and classic Chinese cinema. Everyone is welcome to join, and we’ll provide snacks as well.
