The Division of Dance in the Patti and Rusty Rueff School of Design, Art, and Performance offers courses in modern, ballet, jazz, biomechanics, dance history, improvisation, composition, contact improvisation, choreography, dance for the camera, intermediate choreography, technology, dance prodution and dance performance. Students may choose a minor in modern dance or select courses to fulfill the aesthetic awareness core curriculum requirement of the College of Liberal Arts. Six dance faculty teach course curriculum that include dance minor and aesthetic awareness courses. The Division of Dance faculty are supported by an Administrative Assistant plus a live Dance Accompanist. Classes are taught in two 2400 sq. ft. dance studios with sprung floors, one studio converts into 100 seat lab theatre. The Division of Dance presents five to six concerts each academic year: two main stage concerts, three to four studio/lab concerts, and occasional guest artist concerts.
