Internships in Professional Writing

ENGL 488 & 490: Internship Courses

We offer two internship courses.

ENGL 488 satisfies the internship requirement for the writing and publishing track in the Professional Writing major. It is usually taught in Spring semesters.

ENGL 490 is usually available during summer.

Past Internship Opportunities

Students have found internships locally at high technology and not-for-profit organizations, some affiliated with Purdue, while others have gone further afield to Chicago, Indianapolis, Cincinnati, and Louisville in a variety of businesses and industries. Great internships begin with your career goals and interests in mind, and students are encouraged to work closely with professional writing faculty to determine the best internships to support their career goals and interests.
