Advanced Methods at Purdue (AMAP)

(formerly known as Advanced Quantitative and Qualitative Methodologies Faculty Cluster Hire Initiative)

With support from Purdue University’s Provost’s Faculty Cluster Hire Program, the College of Liberal Arts collaborated with the College of Health and Human Sciences (HHS) on a cluster hire initiative of tenure-track faculty to expand campus-wide expertise in advanced quantitative and qualitative methods in social, behavioral, and health sciences.  By Fall 2017, eight new faculty were hired in our Colleges in conjunction with this initiative and join other faculty in our college with research and teaching interests in methods (click here).

Faculty hired under this cross-college initiative contribute to the research and teaching missions of the units in which they affiliate and collaborate with others within the cluster and across the University in interdisciplinary and extramurally funded research. The Cluster is working towards increasing collaborative opportunities and anticipates the development of a multi-college, shared graduate training platform, including a graduate certification program in advanced statistics and methodologies.  The cluster initiative is now known as Advanced Methods at Purdue and the website is
