Symposium on Education in Entertainment & Engineering | July 24–25, 2026
Join faculty, academic leaders, and industry professionals at the 2026 Symposium on Education in Entertainment and Engineering (SEEE), July 24–25 at Purdue University, to explore how real-world practice can inform what and how we teach.
Organized through the Fusion Studio for Entertainment and Engineering, with leadership support from Rich Dionne, co-director of the Fusion Studio and Chair of the Department of Theatre and Dance, this year’s conversations focus on challenges shared across higher education: preparing students for complex, real-world environments; integrating professional standards into coursework; and designing curricula that reflect interdisciplinary collaboration.
The agenda pairs panel discussions with facilitated working sessions, where participants will engage with questions such as: How should real-world constraints shape curricular priorities? How can standards and best practices be meaningfully embedded into teaching? And how do industry-informed approaches influence learning outcomes, assessment, and student readiness?
SEEE is designed as a working symposium, emphasizing collaboration and the development of practical, transferable ideas that participants can bring back to their programs—particularly in fields connected to theatre, performance, and entertainment engineering and design.
