Early Modern Literature, Shakespeare, Renaissance & Elizabethan Theatre, Ottoman History and culture, Women and Gender.

Tulin Ece Tosun is an Assistant Teaching Professor of Cornerstone: Integrated Liberal Arts for the College of Liberal Arts. She received her Ph.D. in Comparative Literature from Purdue University in 2018. She specializes in Early Modern Literature, Shakespeare, Renaissance & Elizabethan Theatre, Ottoman History and Culture. She focuses on travel literature and intercultural and cross-cultural encounters in Mediterranean geography. Her work has appeared in Interactions (2012) and Academic Communication Textbook (2021). She is one of the contributors and the authors tof Purdue Language and Cultural Exchange Program’s Digital Guidebook for ENGL 110 published by Top Hot (2020). She is currently working on her book project, Haremization of Desdemona: A Comparative Study of Shakespeare’s Othello in the Ottoman Context.

Before joining Cornerstone faculty, Tulin Ece Tosun was teaching at of Purdue Language and Cultural Exchange Program (PLaCE) where she taught Academic Writing and Conversations short courses, and Introduction to American Culture and Language I&II. She also serves as the faculty adviser of Purdue Turkish Student Association (TSA).
