Biography:

Eubin Sung is a PhD student and teaching assistant in the Brian Lamb School of Communication, with a research focus on Media, Technology, and Society. She earned her BA from Sungkyunkwan University in South Korea, with a double major in Information Science and Chinese. She completed her MA in Journalism and Communication at Tsinghua University in China.

Research and Teaching:

Eubin’s research focuses on digital communication, with interests in misinformation, hate speech, and intergroup dialogue. She uses mixed methods to examine how digital media environments shape online discourse and influence intergroup relations.

Her master’s thesis, which combined computational and experimental approaches, investigated how emotional versus (seemingly) rational hate speech affects audience attitudes and behaviors on social media, and was presented at the International Communication Association (ICA) annual conference.

She is passionate about fostering trustworthy and inclusive communication in digital spaces, particularly in cross-cultural contexts.
