Srushti Upadhyay earned her PhD in Sociology from the University at Buffalo. Her research focuses on digital surveillance and governance, gender, and precarious work. Currently, she is working on exploring the complex and multidirectional intersections between technology, intimacy, and economy in sugar dating. She is also working on collaborative projects examining depictions of violence in introductory Sociology textbooks.
