Shagun Sethi

Research Focus: Gender, Work, Family, Social Psychology 

Bio: Shagun is interested in studying social inequalities in families and work places by focusing on gender and race. She employs a social psychological lens to understand and unpack social dynamics. Her research involves experiments and qualitative, quantitative and mixed methods data collection and analysis. She has served as the research assistant for the Methodology Center at Purdue and serves on the Advisory Council for the Center For Families at Purdue. Shagun is the President of the Sociology Graduate Organization for the 2026 - 27 academic year. She has an M.S in Sociology from Purdue University, an M.A in Global Thought from Columbia University and a B.A in Political Science from the University of Delhi. At Purdue, while pursuing her PhD in Sociology, she is also pursuing a concentration in Women's Gender and Sexuality Studies and the Interdisciplinary Advanced Methodologies of the Health and Social Sciences certification from MCAP.
