Sebastian Stein


Sebastian Stein is a Visiting Assistant Teaching Professor in Cornerstone. He was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Philosophy at Heidelberg University and has taught philosophy at colleges and universities in Oxford, Stuttgart, Tübingen, and Heidelberg. He earned his D.Phil. in Political Theory at the University of Oxford, where he wrote a dissertation on Hegel’s Philosophy of Right.  Sebastian’s academic interests lie in German Idealism, metaphysics, practical philosophy, and metaphilosophy, with a particular focus on the philosophical systems of Kant, Fichte, and Hegel. He is the author of numerous articles and book chapters, and editor of several scholarly volumes on Hegel and German Idealism. His work has been presented at universities and conferences across Europe, North America, Asia, and Australia.
