Daniel is a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Philosophy of AI at Purdue University. In Fall 2026, He will take up my post at the University of Iowa as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Philosophy. Daniel received his PhD from Stanford University
Daniel's main philosophical work is in epistemology, the philosophies of action and science, as well as social philosophy, with newer research and teaching interests in political philosophy, philosophy of law, business and tech ethics.
Lately, He has been thinking about deploying AI systems in scientific inquiry, the core benefits of collaboration in epistemic life, the harms of open inquiry, and the nature of a strong epistemic position. These questions flow from a more general interest in the relationship between epistemic norms and cooperation.
