Naomi at Purdue

Beginning her journey with the English Department, Naomi enjoyed her creative writing major, the introductory classes were great, she liked the mall community, and the gems that reside in the department-everyone is great.

She built her skills in technical writing, but soon realized that writing can be applied to any setting. As an undergraduate, she worked two jobs. She didn't think she could handle another one, but the professional writing major opend an opportunity for her research.

She became a aprt of the Crow team, and was exposd to various genres of writing, uncluding grant writing. She primarily wroked with technical and scientific writing, which led her to presenting at a national conference and the 2025 Purdue Undergraduate Research Conference

Naomi After Graduation

Today, Naomi works as a paralegal for the Marion County Prosecutors office, part of the City county government of Indianpolis. Her heaby writing background translated very well with her role.

She minored in Law & Society and the legal document design and editing fit her profile perfectly. Her work entails translating between separate offices and collecting case data to develop all her document work.

Naomi's Advice to Incomoing Students

As her mother tells her, "Take a leap of faith."

And some advice from her, "Don't be shy to make friends with your peers. The community is small-you will be with those people for four years. Make some good friends that last eve after graduation."
