Biography
Michael Shelden is the author of six biographies, including the New York Times bestseller Mark Twain: Man in White (Random House) and Orwell: The Authorized Biography (HarperCollins), which was a New York Times Notable Book and a Finalist for the Pulitzer Prize. He earned his Ph.D. from Indiana University, and his work has appeared in a wide range of publications, including the Washington Post; The Times of London; the Shakespeare Quarterly; the Columbia Journalism Review; and the Guardian (UK). His books on Winston Churchill, Graham Greene, and Orwell have been published in eight foreign languages.
