Biography

Joining the Department of English in Fall 2021, Michael D. Johnson currently serves as the Assistant Director of the Writing Program and teaches courses in composition and professional writing. He is actively collaborating with colleagues across the University to establish an interdisciplinary community of practice centered on alternative grading. Furthermore, Michael is working with colleagues on an initiative aimed at expanding research opportunities within the humanities for undergraduate students at Purdue. His commitment to pedagogical innovation and student success is evident in his participation as an inaugural Steps to Leaps partner, an IMPACT fellow, and his upcoming role as a Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) Fellow in Fall 2025.
