Melinda White is a licensed Spanish and French educator whose academic training is rooted entirely at Purdue University. She holds a B.A. and M.A. in Spanish Education with a concentration in Applied Linguistics and Second Language Acquisition from the College of Liberal Arts, School of Languages and Cultures, and a Ph.D. in Literacy and Language Education from the College of Education, where her dissertation focused on Spanish Education.
As Program Coordinator for World Language Education, a position she held for three years during her PhD program, Melinda teaches Theories of Teaching World Languages and Teaching of World Languages and supervises student teaching. Her current initiatives include expanding the program's recruitment efforts and licensure. A central thread throughout her scholarship and pedagogy is Critically Reflective Teaching Practice.
Outside the classroom, Melinda enjoys theater, music, travel, and reading, and treasures time with her family.
