Office and Contact

Theo Camp received a BA in philosophy from Auburn University and later an MA in philosophy from Oklahoma State University. Their main philosophical interests lie in the domains of metaphysics, epistemology, philosophy of science, and bioethics. Throughout their philosophical career, they have been preoccupied with questions of realism versus anti-realism about scientific and metaphysical theories, leaning toward the Constructive Empiricist tradition of Bas van Fraassen on the science front and a neo-Carnapian form of pluralism on the metaphysics front. Theo wrote their master’s thesis detailing a novel factive approach to metaphysical grounding which aims to do justice to the metaphysical skeptic’s worries without writing off the enterprise of metaphysics as a whole. Some other topics they are heavily invested in include topics in meta-ontology, the ethics of and surrounding life extension technologies, and ongoing debates between physicalism, dualism, hylomorphism, and other broad ontological programs. In addition to this, they also have a passing yet enduring interest in philosophy of religion, ancient philosophy, and moral psychology. When they are not working on something philosophical, Theo is probably writing fiction, playing guitar, or foraging in the woods. They also have four children of unrivaled cuteness: a pug, a rabbit, and two cats.
