Dr. Kris Acheson-Clair (PhD in Intercultural Communication, 2008, Arizona State University) is former faculty at Georgia State University and Fulbright Scholar to Honduras. At Purdue, from 2016 to 2025 she directed CILMAR, the Center for Intercultural Learning, Mentorship, Assessment and Research, where she led a team of specialists in training faculty and staff, developing curriculum, and conducting large scale assessment and funded research projects. She is an award-winning instructor, a well-published scholar, and a global thought-leader in experiential learning, global learning, mentored research, and other high impact practices. Her research centers on the assessment of intercultural competence and transformative learning as well as strategies for leader and mentor development. Dr. Acheson-Clair recently took on a new role at Purdue, directing LEAD (the Roger C. Stewart Student Leadership and Professional Development Department) in the Dean of Students office.
