Biography

I hold a PhD in Spanish Literature from Purdue University, specializing in the burgeoning field of "Neurohumanities" (cognitive science approaches to literature) and contemporary Peninsular Spanish literature, culture, and new media.  Prior to this, I completed a Master of Arts in Spanish while living and working in Madrid, Spain for three years.  I perform empirical research and experiments as well as qualitative research in embodied cognition, theory of mind and empathy, conceptual blending, and the pro-social consequences of literacy, using novels, film, graphic novels, microrrelatos, and more as case studies.
