Biography
Danielle Giles is a PhD Candidate at Purdue University. She has served as both Assistant Director of Introductory Composition at Purdue (’23-’25) and the Assistant Director of Undergraduate Teaching Assistant Programming (’24-’25) with the Writing Program. She has served as the instructor for ENGL 106: First-Year Composition with Conferences; ENGL 108: First-Year Composition without conferences; ENGL 420: Business Writing; and ENGL 424: Writing for High Technology Industries. Danielle’s professional work is almost matched by her departmental service. She has served as the Graduate Student English Association’s (GradSEA) President, GradSEA’s Graduate Studies Committee member, and member of both the Introductory Writing Committee and Assessment Committee.
Danielle is a 2025-2026 Harriet M. Crews and Sandra K. Biggs PhD Research Fellow, working on her dissertation entitled “Guarding Information, Language, and Electoral Speech: Archiving the Rhetoric of Republican Presidential Candidates during the 2023-2024 Presidential Race” that aims to create a comprehensive public-facing digital archive to collect, curate, and analyze the rhetoric of the 2024 Republican presidential candidates. To supplement this work, Danielle is also the recipient of the competitive 2025-2026 College of Liberal Arts Student Excellence in Research (GSEIR) scholarship.
