Connor Au Yeung (歐陽家熹/欧阳家熹) graduated with his MA in Asian Studies at the University of California, Berkeley, after graduating with his BA in History (honours) from Lingnan University, Hong Kong.
Connor is interested in modern East Asian histories of childhood, scientific imaginaries, business, and material culture. Beyond his regional interests, he is also interested in global histories in business, aviation, and science and technology.
He is currently conducting research on the People’s Republic of China’s histories of toys as non-human agents of education, propaganda, and commodification. He is studying chiefly under Dr. Margaret Mih Tillman, as well as other faculty in the department. He is also currently working towards a Digital Humanities graduate certificate.
Outside of research, Connor is interested in military miniature modelling and collection, writing fiction, 3D printing, Asian films, film music and the occasional piano playing.
