Cade Franken is a PhD student in the philosophy department at Purdue University. Cade received his BA in Political Science from the University of Kansas and his MA in Philosophy from Bowling Green State University. His interests are broadly in social and political philosophy, with a focus on theories of justice and egalitarianism in particular. Cade has published a paper in the journal Philosophia on the relationship between capitalism and the ideal of democratic equality. He is currently interested in the question of the currency of egalitarian justice. That is, what kind of equality should egalitarians strive for? In addition to his research, Cade has experience teaching undergraduate courses independently, including Introduction to Philosophy, Introduction to Ethics, and Introduction to Logic. When not working on philosophy, Cade enjoys spending time with friends and family, watching basketball (Rock Chalk Jayhawk!), and listening to music.
