Anawar Mahagoub Ali Mohamed is a Sudanese anthropologist, archaeologist, and community heritage scholar whose work focuses on decolonizing Nubian archaeology and advancing community-led heritage practices. He earned his Master’s in International and Regional Studies at the University of Michigan, where his thesis examined colonial legacies and proposed frameworks such as a “Community Archaeology Contract” and “Resilience Enhancement Systems (RES).” His research focuses on archaeology, climate change, and resilience during the Napatan and Meroitic periods, with a duty to digital repatriation and Sudanese-led scholarship.
