SIS Scholarships/ Awards

A few scholarships are available to support students with different backgrounds and goals. Whether you're just starting out, returning to school, or continuing your education, these limited opportunities can help reduce some of the financial stress. 

The Berenice A. Carroll Feminism, Peace, and Social Justice Award |  $250 | APPLY NOW  - The Berenice Carroll Memorial Award for Feminism, Peace, and Social Justice is intended to honor Professor Carroll’s contributions to teaching, scholarship, and activism including anti-war, feminist, pro-ERA, anti-sweatshop activism, to name a few, by recognizing those students involved in feminist or social justice work—be it purely academic, purely activist, or a mixture of both.

  • Describe in up to 500 words how your scholarship, creative work, service, or activism contributes to an understanding of peace studies, and/or social justice issues and/or feminism.

The Carolyn C. Perrucci Undergraduate Achievement Award |  $250 | APPLY NOW  -The award is named after Carolyn Perrucci, Professor of Sociology and Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies affiliated faculty who helped found and has been involved with the program since its inception.

  • Describe in up to 500 words how feminist concepts have informed or inspired your political or community activism, and the ways in which your activism reflects what you have learned in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality studies.

African American Studies & AI Undergraduate Award | APPLY NOW

We invite undergraduate students to submit original papers or creative research projects that: Engage AAS topics, histories, or communities , Use original research and/or creative approaches, or Thoughtfully and ethically incorporate AI tools (for research, analysis, archives, writing support, digital humanities, or creative production) 

Purdue D.C Fellowship Program $5,000 Scholarship | Apply by November 3 | Any student majoring in a program within the School of Interdisciplinary Studies and interested in the D.C Fellowship Program is eligible and encouraged to APPLY.

CLA Scholarships/ Awards

Job-Ready Summer Internship Award |  up to $2,000 | APPLY NOW  

To make internships a viable option to more of our students, the College of Liberal Arts created the Job-Ready Summer Internship Award. This award provides up to $2,000 in financial support to qualifying undergraduate students who choose to pursue summer internships off campus.
