- Contributing to national standards by being members of the NIST AI Safety Institute Consortium (AISIC), including members on all working groups
- Supporting regulatory processes, including advising on the EU General-Purpose AI Code of Practice
- Engaging with policymakers by leading a Future Caucus workshop with Indiana legislators on AI governance and legislative trends.
- Advancing local AI governance by co-leading the Survey of AI in Local Government (SAIL-GOV) research initiative
- Recognized for expertise in the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine’s (NASEM) “Strategies for Integrating AI into State and Local Government Decision Making: Rapid Expert Consultation,” where the lab’s co-director was cited for foundational research on ethical and effective AI governance.
