13th Annual Midwest Historical Archaeology Conference

About

The Tippecanoe County Historical Association (TCHA, http://www.tippecanoehistory.org/) and Purdue's Department of Anthropology will host the 13th annual Midwest Historical Archaeology Conference on October 13-15, 2017, on Purdue University's campus in West Lafayette, Indiana.

The theme is Reconstructing, Representing, and Reenacting: Historical Archaeology and Public Education. 2017 marks both the 300th anniversary of the founding of Fort Ouiatenon, a French fur trade post in Tippecanoe County, and the 50th anniversary of the Feast of the Hunter's Moon, one of the largest annual re-enactments of the 18th century fur trade in the United States.
